Permanent Pole is a manufacturer of a wide range of heavy timber products and custom hardware generally used in professionally designed projects in which exposed timber is selected as a prime feature.
Consultation with Architects and Engineers is a significant portion of our service.
Permanent Pole is located near Vancouver, British Columbia one of the worlds finest sources for large and high quality logs. Wood can be supplied from large Coastal trees or from the dense species of Interior climates. Smaller sizes or quantities are available in Certified or dry-standing stock.

large scale exposed timber.
OUR PRACTICE: - to manufacture exciting , fully pre-fabricated timber components and related connectors so that field crews in normal site conditions may construct eye- catching structures without undue skills or tools.
OUR CAPACITIES - Lathe turning to approximately 30"(75cm) diameter and length of 50'(15M). Turning is available in cylindrical, tapered, multi-tapered, barrel-shaped, or patterned form.
Controlled framing for notches, grooves, blind or through slots, deep pockets,
small and large holes, tapered shapes, polygonal flats, circular segments and other cuts.
Bandsawing - to a 36"(90cm) face and to plus 40'(12M) lengths.
Finishing, kiln-drying, pre-fitting of connectors and other services are available as required.
Species Available - Western Red Cedar, Yellow Cedar or Cypress, Douglas Fir , Spruce, Pine, Hemlock are all locally available. Other species can be processed as available. As well, we turn and frame in Glulam and Parallam.
Auxilliary Services - Consultation with Architects, Engineers, Owners or Contractors as to availability of species or sizes, species characteristics, options in jointing or in design concepts for connectors.
We can also produce shop drawings in CADD and can package and ship as needed.
PRODUCTS PRODUCED:
In Round Wood - Columns, beams, frames, trusses, lamp standards, bollards, gateways, pergolas, ships masts and flagpoles, etc.
In sawn wood- Straight or tapered beams, columns, timber trusses, and landscape items.
In Steel - Plate-style brackets, inserted connectors, socket-style connectors, cross-brace assemblies, tie-rod kits, hinged or swivel connectors and others.
Connectors may be Galvanized, powder- coated, plated, sandblasted, or have other coatings.
